Disable IPv6 for Windows Vista
 

Disabling IPv6 will give you a faster connection time on Windows Vista.
 

Follow these easy steps

 

  1. Click on Start.

     
  2. Access the Control Panel
    ... via Start Menu View ... via Classic View
    1. Click on Start, then select the Control Panel 1. Click on Start - Settings - Control Panel
  3. Once the control panel is open click the Classic View selection on the left side of the screen.

     


     

  4. Locate and double click on the Network and Sharing Center icon

     
  5. Click Manage Network Connections.

     



     

  6. Right-click on your Broadband connection.

     



     

  7. Click Properties.

     



     

  8. Click the Networking tab.

     




     

  9. Remove checkmark for Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).

     



     

  10. Click Ok.

     
  11. Close all the windows.
